By placing an order through the Barrell & Vine website, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.
  • You are legally entitled to purchase alcohol in New Zealand.
  • Any recipient of alcohol purchased is also at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to receive alcohol.

Barrell & Vine does not knowingly sell or supply alcohol to minors.

Age Verification

Barrell & Vine takes reasonable steps to verify the age of purchasers and recipients of alcohol products.

Customers may be required to confirm that they are over 18 years of age when entering the website and again during the checkout process. We reserve the right to request proof of age and identity at any stage of the ordering, payment, collection or delivery process.

Acceptable forms of identification may include:

  • New Zealand Driver Licence
  • New Zealand or Overseas Passport
  • Kiwi Access Card
  • Hospitality New Zealand 18+ Card

Failure to provide satisfactory identification may result in the cancellation of an order or refusal of delivery.

Delivery of Alcohol

Alcohol products may only be delivered in accordance with New Zealand law.

Our delivery partners and suppliers reserve the right to request identification before releasing alcohol products.

Alcohol deliveries may be refused where:

  • The recipient appears to be under 18 years of age.
  • Suitable identification cannot be produced.
  • The recipient appears intoxicated.
  • The delivery would otherwise breach New Zealand law.
  • The delivery driver has reasonable grounds to refuse delivery.

Where delivery is refused, additional delivery charges may apply.

Supply to Minors

Barrell & Vine will not knowingly sell or supply alcohol to persons under the age of 18 years.

We will not knowingly facilitate the purchase of alcohol where there are reasonable grounds to believe that alcohol is being purchased on behalf of a minor. Any attempt to purchase alcohol on behalf of a minor may result in cancellation of the order and refusal of future service.

Intoxicated Persons

Alcohol will not be supplied to any person who appears intoxicated.

Where a delivery driver, supplier or fulfilment partner reasonably believes that a recipient is intoxicated, delivery may be refused.

Barrell & Vine supports responsible consumption and complies with all applicable laws relating to the sale and supply of alcohol.
